Yesterday was shooting Nutcracker ballet. Camera combo was R5+28-70 for wides and R3+70-200 for tight.

Venues like this often have spotty lights, but came pretty good in the end.

I was at our local NC production yesterday (dress rehearsal), but ended up just taking video with the R3. I don't do much of that so it was a bit of a learning experience. I had the same two lenses; 70 was just about the right focal length so I used the 24-70 and could then zoom out for more context if I wanted.

I found there's a BIG difference in illumination from one spot on the stage to another. I went manual exposure so I didn't get a lot of swinging, but I was constantly adjusting. And the color temp is very warm.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
