I was shooting in Manual mode with face detection but when I switched to Auto ISO I no longer got the box for face detection ... using back button focus. What gives and how do I fix it?

I shoot FV mode alot nowadays with auto ISO no issues might try with manual to see if I can replicate your issue. Photographing at motorsports park Saturday will get back to you.

That will likely be in the programming. I always shoot in Manual with Auto ISO but I don’t use the AF-ON for that so I can’t be specific to your question. Check the AF programming for that button and the Detail Set.
