Bit of a dumb question.
How do you organize and or keyword.

i go out storm chasing next day load photos from sd card to external hard drive in a created folder thats it maybe labelled storms 30th may. This folder will be a sub foler. So i have storms then years and each year has months and subfolder in each month. Equine pics farms pics family pics same structure.

Should i be key wording as well?

how do others do it in a simpler way.

Keywording can be challenging. If you don't have a well-defined word list (and hard limits on adding new words) too many keywords become worse than none at all. I don't use them because a good scheme takes too much time and thought to implement, but I probably would use them if I shot more photos than I do now (my current catalog contains about 9,000 images).

Like you, I use a simple folder structure for event, category, and date. I'm definitely interested to hear what others are doing...

PS my chosen editor is DXO PL7 coupled with FP so no DAM

I use a folder for each year and within that just use sub-folders titled “date - description of subject” but will use a separate sub-folder for the likes of holidays or other shoots covering several days.

I'm lazy.

Drive > Camera Body > Year > Month > Location > sub-folder if needed > File Type

Now it's up to me to remember what, where, and when.

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
