"Pareidolia is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none.*"

I discovered this is easier seen than photographed, that is, I see something and it doesn't photograph well, or I see something and I don't have my camera. Intentionally walking around looking for Pareidolia rarely generates results. At the beginning I wasn't sure I would find anything so the first three are the obligatory run of the mill snapshots. (I picked titles because it's fun to do).

Wizards Hat ~ I think every beach with sea stacks has a rock formation called Wizards Hat. I chose a long exposure to form the brim of the hat.

Evil Grater ~ I felt like at least making an interest composition and edit of this common pareidolia.

Total Recall - In Wood ~ I am not sure everyone would catch the reference to the movie. Initially I pondered cropping and giving it the title: Naughty Wood.

Tossing Back a Cold One ~ Paint and rust on a pedestrian overpass.

Watching Over His Master ~ I was watching rock climbers at Smith Rock State Park when I found this interesting rock formation. The common formation to photograph is called Monkey's Head... for obvious reasons.

Water Bear ~ At Shore Acres State Park (Oregon) there is much more epic wave action during King Tide and better lighting conditions, but sometimes you can find interesting compositions. Title: I see a bear made of water climbing the rock.
