First time shooting with the RF 28-70 F/2. Wow. Except for the size/weight, I loved it. This was a VERY small space, yet you can still create really nice bokeh.
Welcome to the group, Jeff. Beautiful capture and model. It's an awesome lens, isn't it? Every time I shoot a few photos and load them on my computer, it amazes me. Prime captures in a zoom lens. It inspires me to get out and push myself to see what I can do with it.
@MaraLee First off, thank you. Yes, the lens is impressive. I shot for about 3 hours with it and I could feel the tension in my arm. For small spaces, nothing else can compete. But when I have more space, I am going with the lighter ones.
Weight is a problem with the R camera range, its the price we pay for quality. I know a tripod can be yet another lump to carry about, is it not the obvious choice in doors, especially for portrait work? Or at a minimum, to take the weight use a mono pod. Whenever I feel the necessity I use a tripod and remote shutter on my phone

The RF 70-200 seems to be half the weight of the EF version. It is my usual go-to lens. For small areas, no choice but to go with the F/2. Life is trade off. I get it. Also part of the fun.
I tried to compare the differences between the two lens you mention on this site https://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/lenses. There are too many variations to be accurate. I would have thought the RF would have ben heavier, what do I know?

Fluid ounces confuses me with recipes and their cup size.
The Americans have a problem reading the difference between inches and centimetres - Mars Climate Orbiter. I know it was over 20 years ago. I wonder why they are 1 of very few countries not using the metric system by law?
