A male Pyrrhuloxia (preannounced fee-ru-loxia).
The name "Pyrrhuloxia" is a combination of the genus names Pyrrhula (bullfinches) and Loxia (crossbills). The roots mean "flame-colored" and "crooked," and aptly describe the reddish bird with the crooked bill.
Though similar to the Northern Cardinal as far as looks, they thrive in much hotter and dryer conditions of the American Southwest as well as the deserts of Mexico.
Shot with a Canon R6 MKII and Canon RF 200-800mm lens zoomed out to 800mm. Despite it not being an L series lens, it's pretty darn sharp!
