Quick intro as I'm new here.

Hi everyone, I’m Simon Keen from the UK. I’m an amateur photographer with a big love for wildlife, landscapes, macro and motorsport. I’ve been shooting Canon for years and currently use the R5, R5 Mark II and R7.

Lately I’ve been toying with the idea of adding an R1, mainly for its low‑light performance and AF advantages, so I’m here to learn from anyone who’s already made the jump.

Hi Si, and welcome aboard! Some great images there...

Like you, I have an R5 and was thinking of getting an R1 - that was, until the final specs were announced. They seemed a little underwhelming to me, and as I came across a lightly-used R3 at a good price, I went for that instead. I find the R3's autofocus to be a bit more accurate than the R5's, and - for the most part - its smaller sensor doesn't seem to put it at a disadvantage.

So, very happy with my current bodies, but rumours of a MkII R3, with a much larger sensor and a huge increase in frame rate, have got my debit card twitching...
