Canon R5 II R5 Mk II firmware release

They also released a new lens cap that can be placed on from 3 different positions, the way it should have been designed in the first place.
Wistful thinking - maybe they'll do a recall and replace all our old caps. HA!

Strange that the FW 1.3 is not mentioned yet on the European canon sites.
Just wondering if you can use the US FW file on European registered cameras?

I upgrade to v1.3 went smoothly for me - took about 6 or 7 minutes.

Unfortunately, the pre-continuous shooting assignment is only a simple switch for on or off. Sure, its better than going thru the Q menu, but I was hoping that Canon would allow a function button to be assigned the ability to begin caching images (which you can apparently only do with a half-press of the shutter). My Z8 and A1II allow that 'begin caching' function to be assigned to the back-button focus button (dual assignment). Oh well.

I look forward to testing out the other improvements.

The R50 is a fine entry level/beginner/casual stills camera. It is not a pro level camera, but would be fine for hiking, street, family photos...
