RE: No Stabilization in RF 28-70mm F2 lens.

RF 28-70 F2 - My misperception. I just finished an online presentation with Peter Lee of Canon and he explained that even though the lens does not contain Image Stabilization the R5 and R6 cameras having (the only two R series bodies having IBIS) recognize this lens and provide up to 8 stops of stabilization through the IBIS in the camera body. This is true for the other two non-IS primes as well (the RF 50mm F1.2 and the RF 85mm F1.2). Soooo ... they should actually work well hand-held.

The theoretical 8 stops is for a combined in-lens IS and IBIS. With none IS lenses you can theoretically get 4-5 Stops of Stabilization only and with heavy lens like the 28-70, I doubt we can get more than 2-3 stops. Still IBIS is good and 28-70 is a beast.

Actually, Canon lists this lens as 8 Stops even though it is a non IS lens when used with the R5/6.
