One of my first real attempts at a long exposure waterfall with my new (at the time) ND filter. At the end of a four plus mile hike up about 2,000 ft in elevation.

Ramsay Cascades in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They’ve since removed the logs in the lower right, which is a shame.

A big thanks to all who have entered our competition this month. A little quieter than last month but still some smashing entries! Voting is now enabled. Please remember that you can vote on as many images as you like, just not your own :)

Well done and thank you to everyone who entered and voted in our competition this month. A few less entries compared to our macro competition in August but some great entries nonetheless :)
  • 1st place with 7 votes was @AOC with a long exposure perfectly capturing a stunning aurora display in Chena Hot Springs, Alaska. Well done Art!
  • 2nd place with 6 votes was @PKM-UK with short 1-second exposure of the beautiful Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf (‘The Upper Gushing Falls’), in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. Great shot Phil & Karen!
  • Joint 3rd place with 5 votes was @Nick L with another stunning display of the aurora but this time of the mountain Vestrahorn in Iceland. Well done Nick!
  • Joint 3rd place with 5 votes was @THXGEEK with a lovely 1.3 sec exposure of an object that I can't for the life of me figure out! :) Awesome patterns and lights though! Well done Craig!
The theme for our competition this month will be "Street Photography" which will be starting shortly.

Most important - Wonderful shots, everyone! My bucket list will include trips up north so that I can experience those awesome auroras in person!

Tim, to answer your question, my pic is a long exposure of the final wobbling 'death spiral' of a spinning top. In this case, it is a BilletSpin Thrust.
