My wife and I relocated to her hometown in SW Michigan last summer after more than 30 years in the SW suburbs of Chicago. Originally, I'm from a small town near Augusta, GA.

I just took up photography this past December when my wife bought me an R50. Her dad had died earlier in the year and had some EF kit lenses along with an older Rebel 7?!? I inherited those, put the camera in M, and have shot over 13k images since. To be fair, most were in burst mode (love taking bird pics) and recently starting shooting astrophotography (stacking 200+ photos).

Over this time, I've purchased a few third-party EF (Sigma) and RF (TTArtisans) lenses. I also just picked up the RF 28mm prime for our trip to Spain next week. It's the only lens I'm taking.

I'm looking forward to interacting with folks here and learning as much as I can!

Different wildlife, different scenery. That’d be fun.

Ignore me. I’m the annoying, juvenile guy and…
and learning as much as I can!
….I don’t know much and I’m often wrong.

Welcome, Jeff! Sounds like you’ve jumped right into photography with a ton of enthusiasm; 13k shots in a few months is impressive. The RF 28mm should be a great travel lens for Spain, can’t wait to hear how it works out for you.

Super late on this, but I hope that 28mm was great on your trip. Such a handy lens.

Welcome to the forum Jeff.
