So am wondering how everyone store images after take your pictures. On flash drives, hard drives, SSD, or rip to blu ray. What are the benefits and drawbacks of them. Thanks all

Right now they sit on my laptop which replicates to Microsoft One Drive. I have been pondering "archiving" some to a flash drive or a NAS as the increased size of the files and shooting more is now using up more and more storage. I have about 350GB of pictures now and growing at a very fast clip.

ALL files automatically save to the cloud. Some go to Amazon, some to Google, some to Adobe, some to iCloud and some to Photobucket. It depends on what i intend to do with them and which host accepts which format and how long they'll store them. All files are also saved to an external 3T hard drive on my MBP. I've got two other large hard drives I can move between my iMac and my MBP, but they're pretty full. I had more that were filled up with transferred negatives and digitals, but my ex kept them and ruined them. I also had a fireproof safe with CDs of family photos backed up but he refused to let me have them. The only photos I have now are snapshots that were saved on social media.

Don't trust only iCloud storage as those sometimes go out of business or you lose image quality (even if they promise you won't.) Don't trust only hard drives because they can fail or even the person you trust most in the world can fail you. Back up anything even remotely important in MULTIPLE ways to cover yourself.
