  1. Yes
Currently mine set to ISO but thinking might change it to exposure compensation + or -

Cheers all

The control ring for ISO and the lens ring for exposure compensation.

Exposure Compensation (while half-pressing the shutter button).

I think its iso but to be honest I can't remember :cool::cool:

I had to put a lens on the camera to find out. My hands know where to go, but my mind doesn't know why. So knowing that, the front wheel is shutter speed and back wheel is ISO.

I have thought about using it, probably for aperture, but currently I’m not using as the existing controls work for me.

Set mine to exposure compensation. Especially useful on the RF100-400 when photographing aircraft and need to change +/- depending whether ground or sky backdrop. Much quicker to use I find. Also useful on the 24-105 but the plcement on the 100-500 L means I have to manage without - too much of a struggle to balance.

Tried using it when i first switched to RF, but couldn't get on with it so i dont use it at all.

I use mine for Kelvin temperature. Spin it up or down while watching the RGB histogram. You want the 3 channels to roughly match. If the blue sticks out further to the right it's too cool, red to right is too warm.

I honestly think that control ring gimmick was a solution in search of a problem. I might try it for something one of these days, but honestly, all the controls are already handy on the camera.

I have mine set to ISO. But to be honest, I'm gravitating more to using the rear control wheel for ISO.

Better than the M-Fn Bar on the original R
