What have I turned on accidentally for life of me can’t find it. Or maybe it’s always there I always look through eye piece. It doesn’t show then.

Two brackets?

This is normal if you have turned on option to show tilt of the camera, on those brackets is a range of red lines for tilt left/right of the camera. Got same thing on my R8

That's the camera level indicator. On my camera, if I press the Info button it'll cycle through various overlays, including this one.

It’s a turn and bank indicator. When you half press the shutter, you will see a green box in the middle when you get a target lock. A full press of the shutter will launch the missles.

That’s the smartass answer.

The real answer is this thing:

thanks no idea how it enabled accidentally aint even been to that section of set up

PF…

There are also vertical dotted lines indicating whether the camera is pointing up or down. These are in addition to the horizon line which indicates how the camera is rotated.

The viewfinder and screen are mimicking the instruments on ships and aircraft.

Resorting to an aircraft analogy, the horizon line indicates whether the wings are level, and the parallel vertical lines of dots indicate whether the nose is pitched up or down.
