Full Frame What RF lens with R8 for a trip in Europe (Paris & Veneto)

Hi

I have Canon R8 and plan a trip to Italy (Veneto region) & Paris.
I have 3 RF lenses : RF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM, RF 14-35 f/4 L IS USM and RF 100mm f/2,8 L IS USM Macro
I do not plan to bring the Macro lens, but I am wondering if only take the 14-35 was a good idea.
My prefered focal lenght is 35mm, so I am covered with both of them.

What do you think ?
Is taking only one of them is a good idea or bring both? I do not like to switch gear, so when out, I will only take one of them.

Note, it will be my first time in Veneto, but I am used to Paris.

It depends on what you want to photograph, and how you want to photograph it.

On another forum, someone asked a similar question, and folks recommended a good walkaround zoom that has a good wide angle at the wide end. The poster replied he was thinking of a 400mm lens - to which the others said nooo, a general purpose zoom would be much better. After many posts back and forth with the original poster still wanting to take the 400, he finally mentioned that his interest was photographing gargoyles.

So I would recommend a 400mm lens if you are going to photograph gargoyles, but for more common purposes, the 24-105L would be my choice.

I use a 24-105 for all my gargoyle photography needs. Works well.

I agree with both Archibald and SwampGrizz and would suggest the 24-105 zoom. It's a great travel lens, very versatile and capable as well. I don't shoot an R8, BUT I would caution against carrying too many lenses unless, of course, this trip is largely a photographic "tour". You'll come across too many situations where the mounted lens just isn't right for the situation, ergo the 24-105 zoom.

I agree, the 24-105 f4 is probably your best choice for all around photography, if you only want to take one lens. Unless you plan to do a lot of interior or night time shooting, then you may want something with a faster aperture. But then you're spending real money on a 24-70 f2.8 or 24-105 f2.8. And they are bigger and heavier, so there's that.

Definitely make sure you have a couple of extra batteries and memory cards with you though.
