Birds With my newly acquired R5 II, coming from R7, R6 and R6II. I am loving this R5 II, specially the pre capture, no need to look inside my R7 and R6 II.

Agreed, pre-capture is a game-changer!

I only wish that Canon would allow pre-capture engagement/caching to be moved to an additional function button (like the AF On button) instead of just the half-push of the 'shutter button'. Nikon and Sony do this and it is a lot more flexible.

Oh well. It still rocks.

I wish that too, I only found out about on your thread. I hope they can add it on the future firmware updates. I noticed on 1.20 they add more in the menu on AF

I use my R5m2’s AF-ON button for Pre-continuous Shooting.

I can switch this function on/off (for example, to single shot) in a fraction of a second without taking my eye from the viewfinder.

Hi David -

I remember posting about this last year and, after re-reading the responses, am still uncertain.

Can you share your settings for your AF-ON button? That may help.

Cheers!
