Canon’s overall operating profit increased by 35.2 percent compared to its second-quarter performance last year, helping push Canon’s first-half operating profits for FY2026 up 7.6 percent in total compared to last year. That’s good enough news as it is, but the outlook is even rosier in the company’s substantial imaging division. In fact, imaging is the star of Canon’s latest finances. Second-quarter net sales in imaging increased by 17.7 percent, year-over-year, while operating profit...
Thread 'Does PS Generative Fill or Expand use credits?'
Not to hog another thread I decided to start a new one. I was always under the impression that Generative Fill or Expand used Adobe Photo Plan credits. There was question whether or not this actually happened. I decided to give it a try for the first time. I watched a video but I might have done something incorrectly. If someone wants to add to this feel free. First I sent a from LrC to PS. I then cropped up to select what I wanted to fill. Then I selected Content Aware Fill - Expand. Both...
Still toying with R1 ideas and see huge discounts now and then. Ive got R6ii and speaking to a guy who has R1 and R6ii as back and my genre rodeos weather equine etc. He points out run of the mill daytime easy photography I may not notice much if any difference maybe just slight improvement in focus but if ive mastered the r6ii will be negligible. But once its dark comes into its own not necessarily less noisy images until 25600 and above and focus is way better once ugly dark ugly...
Anybody done business with them? How was the transaction? Edit Should have Googled them before I posted this. Sorry. Got some bad reviews on Reddit and other sites.
I will be traveling to Germany and Austria soon. We will be touring some historic sites including Castles and a Palace as well as nature sites. I only want to take along one lens for my R6MK2. I have a 24-70 2.8 L RF or a 70-200 2.8L RF. What lens should I take? Looking for answers and opinions.
For those of you who shoot macro with both R6 III and R5 II, do you really notice any difference in resolution and sharpness when performing a deep crop? Would I truly see a dramatic difference with the R5 II?
Has anyone found a decent third party battery for the RP ? I don't think canon batteries are that good tbh, I have third party batteries for my R62 and they last longer than the canon ones. Cliff.
Hi, Ive just purchased a second hand RF 24-240 f4-6.3 lens. i have read various reviews and it seems ok for the price. Just out of interest, can i ask the forum members their opinion of it for those who have one or have used one. Cliff.
I had some simple editing to do by adding to an existing mask with my brush. As I clicked at one point, it drew a line slightly to the left. Any time I clicked the brush, a new, parallel line appeared. I tried the Stamp, Healing Brush, or even the Lasso tools; they were all awry. I searched on the Adobe forums and found many having the same problem...
Thread 'Vintage Lens'
I was going to wait until my gimbal arrived, but I had to take the beast out for a walk and see how it works. Beast: Canon FD 800mm f5.6 SSC There is still lots of camera shake at 2-seconds and 10-seconds seem like an E - T - E - R - N - I - T - Y! f/8 - 1/400 - ISO 1000 - 800mm
Thread 'What's behind you'
Continuing on from my previous post about looking around when shooting - whilst covering another race meeting I turned around and caught two wagtails and a bird I have yet to identify (my chrome is acting up)
Ping PKM-UK I think I saw in passing a reference to prog rock in one or two of your posts. Dunno if you're aware, but as part of the Beeb's "Proms" this year there is "Prog rock at the proms" https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002zbkf
I recently purchased a Canon FD/FL 55mm f/1.2 on Ebay for $150 and it's a fantastic lens. Goodwill has the 50mm f/1.4 SSC version starting at $15 (plus shipping). https://shopgoodwill.com/item/270931974 This is why I keep tabs on Goodwill auctions. For a little risk and a little money (with a dash of discipline) you can get great deals on photo gear. Items I did buy from Goodwill: Minolta MD 28mm f/2.8, $15 Nikon F 50mm f/1.4, $45 Items I was previously watching but did not buy...
For anyone interested, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is selling a Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM lens. Current bid is $1,101. https://shopgoodwill.com/item/270586379
until the end of the month. It also has Tack Sharp. A new version must be a new version coming out. https://www.on1.com/landing/nonoise-2024-free/
Looking back at some images when I started in 20 more seriously again after long hiatus. Ewww what a shocking image. And doubly worse for editing over saturated slop. Maybe im the only one. Sadly when I started I deleted thousands of raw files rather than archiving, live and learn. Even my foray into rodeo photography jan 26 done 6 well improvement from number 1 to number 6. PS getting closer to rodeo photography accreditation long exhaustive process. Gut feel I will make the cut but...
Looking for suggestions on which lens/lenses to take along for night time street photography in a city (Tokyo at night). I have the following: - Canon R6II - Canon RF 16-28mm f2.8 STM - Canon RF 16mm f2.8 STM - Canon RF 28mm f2.8 STM - Canon RF 24mm f1.8 Macro - Canon RF 35mm f1.8 Macro - Canon RF 50mm f1.8 STM - For day time shooting, I'll have my RF 24-105mm f4.0L, but I'm looking for advice on which secondary lens/lenses to bring along for night time street photography. While my RF...
Great update. The new 15.4.1 version masking update makes it even better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tYoPzcMP7I&t=11s
Thread 'What are your thoughts?'
I am seriously thinking of getting a Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 S.S.C. asking price $895 $1000. "Comes with a handful of filters, lens hood, and a hard shell carrying case. Lens appears to be fungus free, without scratches, and in overall great condition. Case is sturdy, and filters appear all clear as well." It is local, so I will be able to view it before I buy it. My concern is that it's not an L-series glass and being a 800mm I would most likely be out of doors. (I definitely cannot afford...
Thread 'Planning for the next Eclipse... In Australia'
I've started planning for a trip to Australia in July of 2028 to photograph the solar eclipse on July 22 of 2028. The eclipse path crosses the entire continent from the NW all the way down, to Sydney. Sydney is actually directly in the middle of the path of totality. I have a friend in Australia still, I think, in Adelaide. So hopefully I can connect with him and get some local support. I'll be traveling with my wife and my daughter who will be 23 by then. Travel: Flying from Tulsa...
