The “magnify” button isn’t enough?

When I actually slow down and do proper macro stacks, I use the magnify button (in addition to my glasses…if I remember to bring them…🙄). It can be a bit fiddly to move around the scene and find the bit I want to focus on, but it seems to work ok.

it might just be me

Ah…not something I’ve ever tried so I defer to your experience.

Yes, it’s just you. Accept it - you’re defective. 😝

Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

I have a Hoodman Hoodloupe and it works great. I bought mine used for about quarter the price of a new one. It is definitely something that people would buy, never use it, and then look to sell it cheap.

Good luck with your surgery!

Sadly, I am another unfortunate member of the 'Defective League' (Hey, might as well lean into it, right?). I was diagnosed with a rather nasty case of Rheumatoid Arthritis in my late 40s and on bad days it feels as if someone has poured hot lava into my knee, wrist or whatever joint that has decided to flare up... On those days I have not much choice but to take the industrial-strength pain-killers and avoid driving (or handling heavy, expensive camera gear).

For those of you living a pain-free life, enjoy it! It may not last forever.

amen to that arthritis every joint in my body

Annnd in answer to your question, I do have a small 10x stand magnifier that I have used with mixed results on the nighttime skies. More helpful with brighter stars/planets, not so much with the lesser ones. This is inexpensive enough that it may be worth a try. As always, your mileage my vary.
