I just found this forum and thought I'd post a soccer pic from a match I was covering last week. Colors are starting to turn here in Northeast PA. I was using my Canon R3 and a Canon EF 200-400. And yep....Black turf. In fact it was just re-turfed this summer.

Good shot. It really captures the moment: the expression on the player's face and the ball in position. The story is told in the picture except nobody knows why they are playing on a field of blackberries. Black turf.....that is strange for sure. But, oh well...the players might think it is cool...so what do I know?

Thank you....unfortunately they didn't consult me on the turf installation. My fantasy life would be anytime there is a new field or modifications made, we should always be consulted for types of lighting, photo wells or areas, numerous ports in fences. Stuff like that would make us look real good. (LOL)
