Cool. Thanks for posting and thanks for the memories. I was just starting to get into birding in 2007 and got some pretty good shots of a pelican off the a long dock at Daytona beach. I think it was that one.
Hi Only RF,

Cheers - much appreciated! :)

(We did see some pelicans in flight/ diving for food while we were on the pier - but they were at the sort of distance where a RF14-35mm is not ideal... 😅 ).

Hi David,

A beautifully captured example of a subject who prefers to keep its secrets hidden behind the curtain.

(However, what an absolutely splendid curtain!).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Do I dare to share another fountain pen? This is one of the unique ones I included in the latest post, as it is a prototype for the Mickey Mouse Commemorative Pen. Others on my site, latest post.

A lot of state parks in Texas have a bird blind or hide for bird watching and photography. We are at Goliad SP and I spent a few hours in the blind and captured my first shots of green jays. Other than that it was mostly sparrows and cardinals.

Hi Cemal,

An image with a wealth of interest for the casual viewer (and, no doubt, an absolute treasure for any ink pen connoisseur).

A fascinating piece of history for us to behold - as usual, beautifully captured and presented.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Chris,

A set of truly eye-catching captures of beautiful creatures - those green jays are something else (an extraordinary sight).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Brace yourselves - I have actually completed all of our raw file processing tasks and so now have a little of what we like to call 'play time'... :)

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PhotLab Elite/ Nik Collection, Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Studio/ Studio 2).

I hadn't been out in a couple of weeks and got a day between storms here in the PNW on Tuesday, so I headed to Ocean Shores out on the coast. I went there mainly for shorebirds, but got skunked on that. The place is landscape friendly, though, so I spent my day doing that.

Like I mentioned, we had a series of pretty good storms rolling in off the Pacific so driftwood was plentiful. This was a particularly impressive example. That root ball was probably 15' high.

This sharks-head curio shop is in the town of Ocean Shores. In the summer it's a pretty popular beach town with all the kitsch you'd expect. I've been by this shop a million times but I've never been in. I'm a big fan of roadside attractions though and I've always meant to grab a good shot of that shark. Finally got around to it.

Hi Ken,

Love those dreamy landscapes (the leading lines in #1 just shading that set), but the sharks-head frontage definitely had the most bite... Excellent!

All well seen and caught - thank you for sharing... 🙂

Autumn reflections, still a few leaves left despite the recent gales.

Sankey Canal, Warrington UK.

Hi Mike,

Looks like the canal fared far better than our front drive in terms of freshly fallen leaves.

Beautiful autumn colours leading the viewer through the scene. Very nice.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Mike,

An impressive and handsome chunk of metal - fit to fill any frame.

(We suspect the accompanying noise was equally impressive)!.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Good parkland at Tatton Park, particularly early morning and evening, a small lake, and deer.

Also good for a bit of plane spotting, being close to Manchester Airport.
