Snowy Owls fly south from the Arctic tundra to Alberta and more southern locations in winter. It is always a thrill to see them. This is a male and you can tell because males are mostly white. Females have a lot more markings on them. We were fortunate he did not fly as we carefully walked quite a way to get closer to him.
