I found a few interesting sights while riding around southern Alabama.

Lady of the Lake at the Barber Marina. Note the large heron standing on the dock for size reference.

Nice pictures!

If you find yourself in Northwest Alabama, I can recommend a visit to Dismals Canyon. I grew up in Northeast Mississippi and made several trips there. It is a fascinating place. I am not sure it is still open though, so check before you go.

Dismals Canyon looks to still be open. I've saved the location in Google Maps, so I'll check it out if I am ever in that area. Thanks!

If you make up that way, I would also recommend a visit to Natural Bridge Park which is about 30 miles or so away in Winston County, Alabama. Natural Bridge Park contains the longest natural bridge east of the Rockies and is an interesting place to say the least. Also, Clarkson Covered Bridge is about 45 miles away from Natural Bridge Park. This whole area of North Alabama has a lot of nice landscape opportunities.

Winston County Alabama is also very interesting as it was a part of what was informally known as the Republic of Winston. This area of North Alabama refused to succeed from the Union and join the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. There was even a 1st Alabama Calvary Regiment in the Union Army based in this area. Talk about stress around the Thanksgiving table during and after the Civil War.....

Ok....history lesson is over now....🤓

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

    Fantastic sport camera
This camera is FANTASTIC. I'm a dog sports shooter, so very fast indoor action with a lot of obstacles to shoot in and around. This camera does a...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
