Hi Only RF,

A wonderful capture of an absolutely beautiful creature.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Thanks. Had to shoot with fast SS because it was hammering the tree. Our modern NR apps have sure changed our world.

European Fallow Deer on our walk this morning through a local forest area. This was my first outing with my new R6 Mark II and I am really happy with the image quality compared to my R. Now, I just have to get a grip on the AF settings for wildlife.

Postcard from America. This one comes from NASA's Kennedy Space Center Complex on Merritt Island, Florida, United States.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite/ ViewPoint. Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz labs Photo AI. Karen used our Sony RX10 IV on the US trip, so you’re stuck with Phil’s images. Officially - some insets may occasionally veer a little off-piste. Don't tell Tim... ).

You can find out more about the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex by clicking Here.

Phil and Karen

1. Having transited smoothly down to Florida the previous day (witnessing a night-time space rocket launch from our hotel roof top 'space bar' by way of a stunning welcome!), we were relishing the prospect of an enjoyable (if pulverisingly hot) visit to one of our 'bucket list' venues. (We were not disappointed).

2. With self-guided tours through the site beginning as early as 1963, the visitor centre complex opened in 1967, hosing 500,00 visitors that year. Every step of our visit had us marvelling in awe and delight - beginning with a 'chat session' with NASA Astronaut Bill S McArthur Jr. (and what an absolute gold star he is).

RF-KSC-02.jpg

3. Our shuttle bus tour took us past the gargantuan Vehicle Assembly Building and the huge, but still under construction, Artemis Mobile Launch Tower.

RF-KSC-03.jpg

4. The first stop was the recently re-opened Gantry at LC-39.

RF-KSC-04.jpg

5. Importantly, this afforded us our first glimpse of the SpaceX Crew-11 dragon rocket we were due to see launch the following day (or so we believed!).

RF-KSC-05.jpg

6. The second leg took us back past the NASA Launch Control Centre and over to the Apollo/ Saturn V Centre. To be continued...

I hopped over the mountains looking for fall colors in the Kittitas valley. I was maybe a week or two early, but I did find some shots. Might head back later.

Here's a random one from Multnoma Falls. This is easily the most photographed waterfall in Oregon and maybe the entire PNW. But I was there at first light on a drizzly Wednesday morning, so no crowds. What the heck, might as well make some shots.

Hi Steven,

A great contender for 'caption competition of the month'. (Our offer would be - 'It must be take your plant to work day'... ).

Well seen, caught and presented!

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Ken,

Three absolutely beautiful shots - each offering a great deal of interest for the viewer to explore and enjoy. It looks like a wonderful area for photography.

(Do we detect a touch of the Orton effect in #1? - which just nudges out #3 as our favourite of the set).

Very nice work - Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Ken,

An attention grabbing image. What a fantastic sight - and well done on being there at the right time (well worth your efforts).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

I had been out to this place a few days earlier looking for fall foliage. I went back yesterday for the fog promised in the forecast. Upon arrival, no fog whatsoever. Too warm, too windy. Nice skies, though, and the fall colors were still out.

Nice capture, great colors!!

I was planning to drive north the a bird preserve. Wide open in the morning and by 11:00 it was overcast. had a slight opening to the west so I went to our zoo. I only had about an hour before it clouded over.

Hi Only RF,

Some quality zoo time on display here - a wealth of interest for the viewer (though we can't venture far from the cold, steely gaze of those wolves).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Postcard from America. The second set from our 'bucket list' visit to NASA's Kennedy Space Center Complex on Merritt Island, Florida, United States.

1. The Apollo/ Saturn V Centre - a treasure trove of interest (and the 'life support module' for our SpaceX Launch Viewing Area over the following 2 days).

RF-KSC-07.jpg

2. Nothing we've seen could ever prepare us for how big a Saturn V rocket is in real life. Crikey. We doff our hats to all concerned in deepest respect.

RF-KSC-08.jpg

3. Knick-knacks of the void... (We refer you to our previous comments. Absolutely and utterly incredible).

RF-KSC-09.jpg

4. By the light of the moon...

5. Wow - What an entrance! (aka - How to turn Phil into a blubbering wreck).

RF-KSC-11.jpg

6 Absolutely stunning. Evoking so many memories and emotions. (Note: Atlantis was flown by our recent new acquaintance - Mr Bill S McArthur Jr.).

RF-KSC-12.jpg

A joyous (if exhausting) day ended with this bucket list item well and truly checked off - we'd be returning to the KSC over the following 2 days, hoping to witness a crewed rocket launch. To be continued...
