Postcard from America. The second set from our 'bucket list' visit to NASA's Kennedy Space Center Complex on Merritt Island, Florida, United States.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite/ ViewPoint. Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz labs Photo AI. Karen used our Sony RX10 IV on the US trip, so you’re stuck with Phil’s images. Officially - some insets may occasionally veer a little off-piste. Don't tell Tim... ).

1. The Apollo/ Saturn V Centre - a treasure trove of interest (and the 'life support module' for our SpaceX Launch Viewing Area over the following 2 days).

2. Nothing we've seen could ever prepare us for how big a Saturn V rocket is in real life. Crikey. We doff our hats to all concerned in deepest respect.

View attachment 40474

3. Knick-knacks of the void... (We refer you to our previous comments. Absolutely and utterly incredible).

4. By the light of the moon...

5. Wow - What an entrance! (aka - How to turn Phil into a blubbering wreck).

6 Absolutely stunning. Evoking so many memories and emotions. (Note: Atlantis was flown by our recent new acquaintance - Mr Bill S McArthur Jr.).

A joyous (if exhausting) day ended with this bucket list item well and truly checked off - we'd be returning to the KSC over the following 2 days, hoping to witness a crewed rocket launch. To be continued...
Thanks for the memories. We were there many years ago along with a visit to Gatorland.

In the past month, I've joined a couple of outings with local bird club. But the only decent shots that I got we bugs, not birds. Here a two praying mantises what were on daisies in the morning dew. Sorry, just bugs... no birds. Btw, my daughter helped me by doing the "blow-out" pic in Canva(?).

Hi Jim,

Eye catching images of hauntingly captivating (if alarming looking) creatures.

Terrific levels of subject detail (I'm hoping that after receiving therapeutic treatment, I may be able to sleep soundly again sometime in the future... 😂 ).

Your daughter did very well - keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Only RF,

Our pleasure - a few more to come from KSC (and a set from Daytona - following your recommendation).

Hi Craig,

What a sight to behold (must have been awe inspiring to see it).

(We tried capturing some images of a passing comet a few years ago on one of the very rare occasions such events are not greeted with 100% cloud cover here in England. Our random camera settings approach highlighted a complete lack of talent when tackling astral subjects - but we had fun!).

Well done indeed - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

More pens yet! Mostly fountain pens, except for a couple of glass dipping pens. This is the link to the article with more pen photographs and some pointers from my experience. Your comments are also welcome on my website.

Hi Cemal,

Two sublime images of absolutely exquisite writing tools. Both are works of art.

(Beautifully captured and perfectly presented).

Thank you for sharing the images - and the link to your accompanying article... 🙂

Hi Gary,

Congratulations on your new tech - looks like you're already up to speed, with 2 terrific shots (#2 has to take it as our favourite - wonderful!).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

For our final post this month, another 'Postcard from America' featuring a few more shots of our 'Feel The Heat' SpaceX Crew-11 launch experience.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite and Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels).

For the fountain pen lovers, I have more fountain pen photographs and information on a new article on my site:

Here are a couple of teasers. They are all focus-stacked images in Photoshop.

Hi Cemal,

Wonderful.

Masterfully captured and presented - and a joy to behold.

Hi Ferenc,

Enthralling shots of a huge - and hugely imposting - piece of art. (You 'exhibited' a very steady hand amid the thronging crowds).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Thanks for your kind comments.

Hi Mike,

A series of pleasingly dynamic skies - we much prefer drama such as this to featureless grey (providing we remain cosy and dry…).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

I like those types of skis too. Thanks!

Finally got to processing our fall foliage photos. It was not a great fall foliage year in New England because of drought and funny temperature trends. This tends to result in extremely localized color (and this year, a lot less bright orange color), but there's always something good to photograph.

The first day of the first week of our trip we found pockets of color around Mount Washington in New Hampshire, including this ridge of Wildcat Mountain.

I captured the silhouettes of pine trees up against a colorful ridge.

The lower slopes of Mount Washington had some nice color, including some oranges; the higher elevations are survivable only by evergreens.

A small pond on Route 16 provided foreground for a colorful ridge that was near peak. But on the ridges on the other side on the pond, there were either orange-brown or yellow-leafed trees.

To close out this set, a nice orange tree in Sentinel Rock State Park in Vermont. The hills in the distance are normally glowing with orange color; the rusty colors and blue skies provide a nice background for this tree.
