Just wanted to say that the image of the tree is fantastic to me. Was it a hot day, there appears to be heat waves that I think enhance the "story" of the tree. Well done.

We are delighted to welcome 'Harry' to Team Moore. 
Harry is a little lighter, has a slightly stronger motor (albeit benefitting from higher cadences) and lower granny gears than my current bike, which should enable me to (almost) keep up with Karen for a while longer. It will be fun trying (well, mostly)...

^^^^Actually, LaSalle was a stand-alone make manufactured by Cadillac but sold under its own brand name from 1927 through 1940.

A 1940s Chevrolet AK Series pickup truck as identified by Goggle Lens.

The Chevrolet AK Series is a range of pickup trucks sold under the Chevrolet brand, produced from 1941 through 1947. It used the GM A platform, shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. The AK series was also branded and sold at GMC locations, with the primary visual difference being the Chevrolet had vertical bars in the grille, while the GMC had horizontal bars.

1. Chepstow Castle (Welsh: Castell Cas-gwent), the oldest surviving post-Roman stone fortification in Britain, sits atop limestone cliffs on the River Wye.

I'm still working through the blooms. There is geranium, pelargonium, iris, calendula, astrantia, callestemon (I think), knautia. And more.
The patterning on the last 2 blooms looks so orchid, but they aren't. Flower form suggests viola (only ~680 species plus the cultivars).

1. Claiming descent from Welsh princes, the Morgan family owned the Tredegar (Welsh: Tŷ Tredegar) estate for over five centuries.
2. Edward Morgan became Colonel Edward Morgan, a Royalist during the English Civil War 1642–49, and Captain General of the King's forces in South Wales. During the civil war and after the Battle of Naseby, King Charles I visited Tredegar House in 1645. King Charles I was later arrested and was subsequently executed in 1649.
3. By 1664, the social status of William Morgan, MP for Monmouthshire, and his wife Blanche was such that they required a new house to match. The house took almost eight years to complete and was built on a grand scale, engulfing its stone-built Tudor predecessor, parts of which are still evident.
4. After inheriting Tredegar in 1875 Godfrey Charles Morgan was created Viscount Tredegar in 1905. He is widely remembered as ‘Godfrey the Good’ - he gave away parts of his land, including what is now Belle Vue Park and the Royal Gwent Hospital and reduced rent for his tenants in times of hardship.
5. Godfrey’s great-nephew, Evan, 2nd Viscount Tredegar (1893-1949), was the last Morgan to live out his life at Tredegar. Wild at heart, he was known for his extravagant parties, keeping a menagerie of animals, and his attempts at the practice of ‘black magic’. Evan was friends with many of the leading artistic figures of the era including Augustus John, Charlie Chaplin and Aldous Huxley.
6. Evan died in 1949, leaving a wealth of lively anecdotes but a financial burden that meant Tredegar House had to be sold by the Morgans in 1951. In the 1970s, Newport Council bought the house and transformed it into a museum and in 2012 they leased the house and parkland to the National Trust, who now care for it.
