Our photo club did a photo walk field trip to a state park south east of Houston that is known for it's large alligators and we were not let down. Saw several in the 6-10 foot (2-3 meter) range and many large males bellowing their growl that they do in the mating season. Sounds similar to a lion growl!
It was nice weather, overcast which is great for wildlife, but it soon got hot and was very humid so we were all dripping by the time we finished. I wouldn't classify it as a GREAT photo walk as far as wildlife to photograph, we had to look hard and wait but it's always nice to walk and talk with fellow photographers and friends.
