Both are excellent photos. I like the two together as a set because the second puts a different flavor of context around the incredible detail of the first. Thank you.
 
I agree with jcass; the first photo almost reads as a posed portrait, and the second as a "candid" shot - those kookaburras are just giving off SO much attitude, I love it!
