Abobe to stop downloads for LR6

I remember running that version before I finally went with the subscription model. Seems like a century ago!

6 years this month since it went subscription.

I don't know if I will ever need LR 6, but it seems like I should archive this old file - so I did that.

Why not. Last chance. I know I couldn't. By LR8 I knew I could never go back to LR6. If Adobe ever ticked me off or I had to cancel LrC I'd use a different developer. I have a continually changing back up plan. My latest would be to use to Canon's DPP with Topaz Sharpen AI as I test other developers.

If we did have to go back to LR6, how do we activate it? I think Adobe servers are needed for that. Once those servers go down, LR6 will be nonfunctional.

There used to be a bundle of old Adobe software that was free to download and activate because Adobe had botched the licensing, and therefore assumed everybody had a license. Was that with LR 8? I don't remember any more. Anyway, that software doesn't work any more because the activating servers were decommissioned.

I don't know. A question for the Lightroom Queen. Are you a member? If not I can ask.

No, don't ask. I can't imagine a need for LR 6. If that need materializes one day, that's when I can look into getting LR6 running.

So...apparently my Adobe Photoshop® Lightroom® 5 may not be supported either.

I wonder if I can auction the Key and Serial number on eBay?

LR5 has not been supported since 2014 so I wouldn't sit by the phone hoping for it to ring. :) As for being able to activate I don't know. I you are on a Mac and have Catalina 10.5 or newer you won't be able to install it. 10.5 is full 64 bit. LR5's installer is 32 bit. No sure about Windows.

This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
