Curious to know if anyone else here is using other camera systems in addition to Canon RF.

In addition to my R6II, I also use cameras/lenses from 5 other systems (two digital and three film):

- Sony A7c and Sony A7IV with several Tamron lenses.

- OM System OM-5 with several Olympus and Panasonic lenses.

- For film, in addition to my Canon FT QL's, I also use Pentax, Nikon, and Mamiya for medium format film.

I just purchased the A7iv recently, and I've been testing it against my R6II. So far, the R6II files are way better than those of my A7iv, so no plans on "jumping ship" anytime soon!

nope but have been given a film camera recently

I have a bunch of M4/3 lenses for my Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4K, but it's not a stills camera, so I guess that's a bit different.

Hi Sandy,

We have Sony RX10 III and IV bridge cameras (though only the latter gets much use at present) and also a GoPro Hero 7 Black.

The Sony's are wonderful if travelling where weight and flexibility are major considerations and the GoPro is used when cycling.

Otherwise we use our R5m2 and R7 (generally with RF lenses, though we still have a few EF variants).

My only non RF camera is my Sony RX100iii, which I have had for about 10 years now. I bought it because I thought I would use it instead of a heavy dslr at the time. I did use it a lot for several months as my primary camerra, but I guess I am to used to bigger cameras and switching lenses. Using the Sony just wasn't as enjoyable to me.

I'm considering a medium format camera, but I'm just in research mode for now. An older Hasselblad might be the place to start...
I have never owned a Hasselblad, but have no doubts about the user experience with them. Back when I was a film only wedding photographer in the late 90s and before I bought my first Canon D30 in 2001 or 2002, I used a Mamiya C220 twin lens reflex. The ultimate experience for me back then was that I bought a medium format slide projector and shot some landscapes and nature etc. on various slide films, like Velvia 50. I had a 55mm wide angle, an 80mm normal, and a 135mm telephoto lens. The images I shot with that camera had a very special look to them. I even kept using it for a while until I moved up the Canon EOS D60 a couple of years later. Maybe one day in the future, I might buy a C220 or C330, or maybe a good RB67 or RZ67 if I could afford it, and shoot some black and white, develop it myself, and scan. It was a fun process to do, very very enjoyable for me back in the day.

Edit: I just remembered my dream camera back in the day, the Mamiya 645 AFD III. It would also take digital backs which is why I wanted it for shooting portraits and weddings. But, I wasn't a rock-star wedding photographer which meant I was too broke to pay attention most of the time.... :ROFLMAO:

I still have and use the Canon M6 MkII as well as two M5 bodies and 4 EF-M lenses; oneM5 is converted to infrared at 590nm. Other than that, I have a DJI Air drone and a GoPro Hero 5.

I like the M series mirrorless for when I want to go small and lightweight.

Yes. I mostly shoot with my Sony A1 and Sigma 500 F5.6 these days, that's if I'm shooting wildlife. For motocross I like to use my Sony 70-200 F2.8 GM II. I have a smaller Sony A6700 for travel as well. It's just what works for me, and of course I run a similar forum for Sony Shooters as well. I still have the Canon R5 but it's mainly collecting dust and will be sold soon.

Does this mean you’re going to change the forum name to Sony Shooters? 🤓

I have several EF lenses I adapt to the RF mount. I also still have a Canon T-70 film camera with a few FD lenses. I actually have an adapter that lets me use the old FD lenses on the R5. In addition, I own a Panasonic LUMIX LX-100 which is a very cool little retro looking camera.
