What’s the deal with the waiting list to access the Canon website?

I mean seriously? When was the last time you had to wait in a queue to access a website?

Hey Canon, 1996 called, and they want their dial up modem back.

Last night it took between 10 and 15 minutes to get onto the site.

I was trying to buy a refurbished RF 1.4 extender. By the time I got the site to work they were all sold out, again.

Even now, it says I’m in line to access the site. Says there are 14,000 people ahead of me and I should be able to access it in less than a minute. But that’s what it said last night and it took about 15 minutes.

Canon needs a new web server that doesn’t bog down under a modern user load.

In the plus side, it looks like the R6m3 has arrived in the refurb site, so you can save a few hundred dollars if you’re looking for one.
