I received a call from Scott Alexander of Twisted Blue (a Band) yesterday as he had a question regarding cleaning up a band photograph to enlarge to poster size for selling, but the photo looks like 
when enlarged. Apparently he has a band photographer/videographer.
I when through the usual spiel regarding image quality is best captured in camera and the more it gets transferred around the worse it looks... kind of like a Xerox of a Xerox... of a Xerox.... (kept it in layman terms). I wasn't wanting to blame their photographer, but it was revealed that the camera was a Samsung Galaxy S23 (I suspected it was a phone shot.)
At this point I explained that phone shots look good on social media and if they are enlarged, they look great from a distance, but never close up. When you have someone looking to purchase your photograph, they are generally up close.
Then came the pitch.
Scott asked if I would be able to photograph the band and before I knew it I said sure. It appears they like stage lighting that will be a challenge for for photography. I'm thinking RF24-70mm f/2.8 and RF70-200mm f/2.8 depending on the venue as well.
NOTE: Scott knows my daughter and that's how we met. Here is a photo I took at a band practice under the carport back in 2016 with my Canon Rebel T3 and kit lens.
