even if the canon didn't win hands-down (and having watch tony and chelsea's comparison it's hard to think the canon isn't punching above its weight, at a minimum) you get 80-90% of the sony at about 60% of the cost. that's value for money.

In a bored moment I watched it. Like their other reviews I wasn't impressed. Comparing performance using an f4 600mm vs f11 800 at less than 10% of the cost is hardly like for like and no mention of the fact that you can adopt your EF lenses to use unlike Sony as they don't have old lenses available . Huge savings can be made on glass when you buy in to Canon.

I'm not reading any other reviews... I'm now committed again no matter what appears on the market!
My first two digital cameras were Oly bridge cameras and I loved them. But the reason I’m a Canon user is that, when it came to buying a DSLR, the 400D was the one to buy in 2006 and £100 cheaper than the Oly. In my club people have shifted away from Canon to Nikon, Sony, Oly in recent years and now some have come creeping back, yet at what cost overall... and having to learn a new system. Just as well to hang on as everything goes in cycles anyway. At the end of the day there are no bad cameras, it’s down to the person behind the lens.

In fairness most upgrades to a newer model with in the same manufacturer have the same cost implications although maybe not to such an extent as when you have to trade everything. I once tried to run Canon and Nikon side by side having crossed over and it just wasn't feasible for me.
