Really like this one, find the secret of captive subjects is to try not to include man made objects - yep you nailed it ;-)

I love shooting the moon. No specialized gear required as it's bright and big enough to do just what you've done. Even handheld with the 200-800mm on an R7 (effective 1400mm) can be done without a tripod and a fast enough shutter speed if you can work with the ISO noise.

Now stars, comets, and other night-sky stuff? That gets expensive if you want to do it right. Until then, enjoy the moon with what you have.

I bought myself the RF 100-400 last month, and this weekend was finally dry enough for a try out. Pretty impressed, really sharp pictures - anything that is not sharp is operator error !

Nothing wrong with those Mike IMHO. The crocuses are particularly vibrant and the water droplets really lend that extra bot of "oomph".

The 100-400 is certainly a worthy substitute when I don't want to carry the 100-500 despite the shorter range.
