I've been considering this lens and these images looking really good. Currently still have the EF16-35 F4 L and with needing the EF-RF adapter it makes it a long and heavy lens. So thinking of selling it as the RF version is lighter and more compact.
Just a quick try out of close focus with this lens. Not had a lot of time to try lens out as yet since getting it the other week.
Sadly we had some heavy rain the other day which did not do the Peonies any favours. Hadn't notice the ant on the pink one when I took it.
I just got my new RF 14-35 this past Friday (7 Nov 2025) and had a chance to try it out yesterday (Sat). I drove up to Los Cerrillos, NM, a little village just north of Madrid (where the movie Wild Hogs was filmed. I mostly took shots at 14mm just to see what that wide focal length would look like. The camera was the R5.
A very long mural (> 20ft long) shot at 14mm but very close
The same mural shot down the side of the wall at 14mm
St Joseph's church shot at 25mm (I should have stepped back a bit to not cut off the cross)
St Joseph's shot at 14mm - standing a lot closer that you might think from looking at the image. I was just a few feet from the door.
A representation of the Pietà in teh church courtyard. This was 14mm and extremely close to subject. The camera correction did a great job keeping the crosses looking straight.
Looking down one of the streets in Cerrillos, NM at 14mm
