A trip back in time (literally) with some R Images from a visit (in 2019) to Coughton Court, Alcester, Warwickshire, England.
(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PhotoLab Elite/ ViewPoint and Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop).
Phil and Karen
1. Twenty-one generations of the Throckmorton family have lived at Coughton Court since 1409 and the family still live here (though the house and estate are owned and managed by the National Trust).
2. Coughton Court has many stories to tell - including a plot to murder Queen Elizabeth in 1583 and its involvement in ‘the gunpowder plot’ of 1605.
3. The courtyard was closed on all four sides until 1651, when Parliamentary soldiers burnt the east wing during the English Civil War.
4. Beta Lightroom Catalogue...
5. The house is set in extensive grounds, featuring a river, lake and an award-winning walled garden.
