Hey everyone,

I’m running into a weird AF issue with my R6 Mark II and wanted to see if anyone has a fix or knows whats up.

A short while into a shoot, the AF starts wiggin out and flashing/dancing around. Big and small green/white tracking boxes start flickering and jumping all over the screen - see the vid .The weirdest Part: My settings are locked to:

1 shot and Single Point AF.
Whole Area Tracking is off
Preview AF is Disabled
Subject Detection is none

I can still move the single point focus with the thumb stick

Basically the camera seems to be forcing whole area tracking on its own even though the menu says it's off. just need to turn off the camera to get it to clear

Happens on both my 14-35mm and 24-70mm L lenses.

Anyone else had this problem?

Here is a google drive link to a short video showing what is happening:

Doesnt happen every shoot just once in a while. can live with it just a bit weird thats all
😕
???

ignore the flickering black screen thats just my phone camera getting too close and turning the LCD off

Nothing worse than trouble shooting an intermittent problem. Have you mapped any buttons to switch to whole area/eye detect and pressing it inadvertently?

ah yeah thats annoying I accidentally deleted the google drive link forgot It was linked here, Nah button aren't mapped to anything and im not pressing anything inadvertently. its proper weird. ill re-post the link hopefully you can see this time. I might just do a camera reset and see what happens. its doesn't bother me much. its only every now and again. Ive updated to the new firmware but still happening

That's odd because you have Preview AF disabled yet I see it appear once in a while. At least I think that is it. It looks like a white broken AF point.

Have you considered a complete factory reset? It is a pain. When I did that a few times or upgraded to a new body I used my iPhone to take shots of all my menu pages.
