  1. Yes
I have the RF 24-70 f/2.8 USM L lens so a 28mm prime would not add to my current photography capabilities. That lens on my R6 is a significant piece of equipment. I am curious if I might carry my R6 more often and capture more images if I added the RF 28mm f/2.8 STM to my kit.

I really don't need another piece of gear, but I need to take more photos. Anyone find adding the RF 28mm helped them do that?

Hi David -

I'm the last person to ask whether or not you should buy another lens. Having said that, shooting with primes forces me to slow down and focus on framing and context for any given image. Zooms let you cheat a bit by giving you all that flexibility to reframe a scene without moving around as much. I do occasionally declare a 'prime only' day or weekend just to see what I can achieve.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

(Oh yeah. Yes. You should absolutely buy the lens)

Thank you for sharing your obvious wisdom on this matter. Yes, it certainly helped. After your explanation the answer seems so obvious. I'll be placing my order this afternoon.
