My R5 has fallen off my tripod a few times before and landing on the ground without an issue. Apparently, brick isn't as forgiving. Well out of warranty and no Canon Care.

Preliminary report: It appears the only damage is to the viewfinder. It does brush up against the screen when it gets flipped out. 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens is okay.

Ouch! Incidentally what colour was the brick (in reference to the challenge thread)?:D

Yep. I went out again to finish the shot.

In fact, I have all three suggestions completed and I'm thinking of posting all three instead of waiting and posting one.

Ouch.

Have you found a mauve brick yet?

(tangential reference to a classic Dilbert cartoon).

I had to stand on a chair and because it was at the top of the stairs... I thought perhaps not.

'Odd' coloured bricks.

Refractory bricks are used to line things like kilns. Some are traditional brick colour, some are beige, some are black - with and without a coloured metallic sheen, etc.

Some are even purple.

I've lost the link to the mauve one.

(I've a small collection of old bricks from a pottery kiln. Some are odd shapes, in order to construct a curved surface.
