First off, it looks fantastic!!! I wondered if you had done the inner barrel, and you did! Wow. That must be a really good fit. I'm impressed!
Regarding the Canon white color, yes, I have heard that same information about temperature. But also, it is definitely a very noticeable color. It kinda stands out in a crowd, so you know how many folks have Canon lenses!!!
I do nature and wildlife photography (I'm in Alaska), and I can say that in my experience, that bright white lens is definitely noticed by the animals, and NOT in a good way. Unless it's winter.

Then you fit right in.
I put the Lenscoat on my 100-500. I wasn't that impressed. I think yours looks better and more useable. One thing I've already noticed about the material is slick enough that it makes it hard for my small hand to grip the lens when I want to turn the zoom. I might take off that section, especially since the lens grip under that is black.
Gosh, you did a really good custom job on yours, with all the cutouts, etc. Well done.
