Greetings from Finland

I am glad that I found this group by chance and became a member.

I never thought that photography could be a hobby for me. Maybe because my father was into photography and back then I and other family members often had to be models. I found it boring and photography was not my "thing" at all, that's what I thought.

Then when I met my husband I noticed that he was/is also a photography enthusiast. It took quite a while before I became interested in photography and I think my interest was sparked by a mobile phone camera. After much consideration I bought my first SLR camera. The current R8 is my second camera. I take pictures of all kinds, landscapes, our garden plants and birds to some extent and especially our two dogs. The dogs and the camera are always with me when I go out in nature.

I have a lot to learn and I believe that I will get ideas and inspiration from this group.

My great-grandparents were born in Finland. Whenever they didn't want the kids to hear what they were saying (especially discussing presents around Christmas) they would switch from English to Finish. No fair!



You have a wonderfully photographic country - somewhat familiar to our Pacific Northwest. I hope to see some of your pictures of Nuuksio national park (if/when you next visit).
