Thanks for admitting me. As my user name suggests I’m Gordo, live near St Ives (Cambs, not Cornwall!) looking at replacing my 7Dmkii with an R6. Currently I use a 500mm f4 + 1.4 tc for wildlife, or if I’m not moving far a Sigma 300-800mm! I’m not getting any younger, so looking at weight reduction for my kit!

Welcome Gordon and thank you for joining up here. That Sigma certainly has some weight to it at 5.87 kg!!! I think by the time I'd brought that up to my eye the bird would have been long gone! Have you tried renting the R6? I'm using the R5 as I find the extra resolution helpful for cropping, especially for wildlife.

I’m lucky, I used to work in photographic wholesale and then retail and one of my ex employers let me borrow an R6 and 24-105 f4 for some time. I can’t really justify an R5 to my wife (yet!)
