Hello, I’m a retired/disabled photographer from the Moray Coast in NE Scotland. I bought my first Canon camera/lens (A-1/50mm f1.8) in 1981 and I have owned/used a succession of Canon cameras and lenses ever since.

I started to move over to Mirrorless RF cameras and lenses about three years ago and currently own R & R7 bodies with a couple of RF lenses and a bagful of EF (mainly L-series) lenses.

R-Series bodies: I will be buying an R5ii body as soon as I receive funds which are due in the next few months. I plan on hanging onto my current bodies as back-up pro tem

Lenses I currently own: All of the EF lenses/accessories listed will be sold/traded although I may retain the EF-EOS R Control Ring Adapter just in case.
  1. EF 16-35 f4 L IS USM (77)
  2. RF-S 18-45mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM [49]
  3. RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM [77]
  4. EF 50mm f1.4 USM [58]
  5. EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS USM [67]
  6. EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS II USM [77]
  7. EF 100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USM [67]
  8. EF 1.4x III Extender
  9. EF12 II Extension Tube
  10. EF25 II Extension Tube
  11. EF-EOS R Control Ring Mount Adapter
  12. Mount Adapter EF-EOS R
Planned buy pending immanent funds:
  1. Canon EOS R5 Mark II Body

  3. Canon Speedlite EL-5 Flashgun
  4. Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L IS USM

  9. Canon RF 1.4x Extender

Hello and Welcome from a fellow Scot (Clan Donald here).

(OK, so it was my Great Grandpa Mac & earlier who were native Scots... I'm from California. Don't hate me!)

You're gonna love the R5II - such a fun camera! I can personally vouch for items #4, 5, 7, 8, & 9 on your pending list. Don't listen to anybody who poops on the RF24-240mm - it's a very nifty lens and my personal 'just walking around' lens.

Cheers!

+1 for the 24-240mm. My wife has one and I use it too from time-to-time. Sufficient range for most things on a trip out such as zoos, theme park etc. Althoug I tend to use the RF24-105 for a walk_around, sometimes it may not be enought so the 24-240 goes on instead.

Hi , Rob, and welcome to the forum.

You will be very happy acquiring that gear, and so will the camera store. New gear gives great incentive to go out and take great pictures.
