Nice to have a site for R5 cameras. Just recently moved from a 6D MKII. I have mostly been a Canon owner I startmy SLR journey with an AE-1 program. That was stolen and I went to aMinolta Maxxum 7000 as it basically was the first autofovus camera. I was really happy with it. I was going to switch to Nikon, but was talked out it by upgrading to the 9000. I am still friends with the guy who convinced me to stay Minolra. When DSLR's were coming out I had a Nikon D100 on order. A co-worker lent me his 10d to play with as we were going to the local camera shop. When we got there I switched to Canon. I have been mostly a winter sports photographer (Skiing, Hockey and some infoor track meets) . From the 10d I went to the 20d, 40d, then 70d. I moved to the full frame 6dMK II. Not a camera I was fond of. When the R5 was introduced, I ordered one, before the Pandemic hit. I did not expect to get one before spring of 2021. I received it november 2020. I traded in the 6d MKII for it. My glass is all EF right now: Sigma art 10-20, 100-400, amd the 150-600mm. I also have a Tamron 28-300, and a Rokinon 85mm manual focus. I did not like the ROkinon with the 6D but am very inpressed with tit on the R5. I have the basic R5 adapter.

I also have an EOS M5 which I like to use when I cannot carry around a bigger camera/lens kit. I am thinknig of switching it out for the M50 MKII. I still have some film cameras around. I have a thing for 110 format cameras and have several ranging from Minolta, Pentax, and Minox. I am always on the look out for NIB versions.

Hope I can positively add to the forums.

Welcome Norman and thanks for joining up here and introducing yourself. I owned a 10d as well for a very short period of time but just didn't it as much as I expected, mainly due to the size. So I purchased the G9 instead which went everywhere with me for a few years. Hopefully Sigma start producing some RF lenses soon, I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Yes I am hoping the come out with RF mounts. I really use Sigma exclusively, as I find the cost for L lenses too much. I have had and have other brands but I really am a Canon user.

This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
