That be where I live, West coast of Australia. Started photography 50 years ago with a 2nd hand Ricoh film camera, then life took over and photography was put onto a back burner until around '10 when picked I up a basic Nikon. Gave that camera away to friend around '18 or '19 when I bought a little Canon R50. Good camera, but not for someone with small hands (like me) because when shooting my palm would change settings. I keep the R50 as a 'shoot and forget' unit.
About 5 years ago I bought an R5 Mk1 and a Canon 100mm macro lens and started combining my two passions in life, photography and Camellias. I don't photo humans, they are too stroppy, but Camellias produce some of the most gorgeous flowers on this planet. Btw, Camellia in Japanese is 'Tsubaki' (which means 'Spring Tree').
I'm an advocate of FOSS and rejected all things commercial/Microsoft many years ago. Main purpose of joining this forum is to improve and refine my work flow: software is digiKam, Darktable and Zerene Stacker all running on an Arch Linux distro.
Happy to help where I can.
Regards
