High school volleyball has started

Along with football here in the states, volleyball is an early season sport when schools start back. My granddaughter made the freshman girl's team. At least it's indoors where it is air conditioned as it is pushing 105 F here just about every afternoon; can't imagine sitting outside for a football match!

I've found the R7 with the RF 24-105mm to be a good combination as the front row center where I sit is pretty close to some players but has the reach for the girl who is serving. Today was a new school with nice bright LED lights. The older high schools have fluorescent which isn't as bright as LED. Most of the shots today were at 1/1600 @ f/4 and an ISO around 8000.

Yes, and volleyball can be boring from a photographic view as it mostly involves the hand and the ball. Without those it is kind of pointless. But she is a favorite granddaughter so I go as respect to her!

Well done Chris. I'm very encouraged by your results as I will soon shoot my first VB in a long time - this time with no strobes to help, but 10+ years of camera improvements really shine from your R7.
