I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but no idea what.

When I use the joystick I expect the focus box to move, but it doesn't - at the point of writing I'm in spot AF, FV mode, One shot.

I just tested touch and drag and that works as expected, the joystick works as I tested it in the quick menu, I've cleared all customised settings in the orange menu (block three) where customise buttons lives.

I'm not sure whats going on.

Solution
Hi John,

For some reason best known to Canon, the default setting for the Joystick is 'Off'.

You'll need to go into the 'Customise buttons' menu (Orange Menu Tab 3) and set the Joystick to 'Direct AF point selection'.

Solution
lol, and just wow - why would Canon do that be default - the muppets!

Thank you, this forum is outstanding, two issues posted and both resolved in a couple of hours!

To my advantage I have not activated joystick or LCD to move the AF point/s with any mirrorless body I’ve owned.

The most I try to understand why the Joystick is turned off in the configuration the most I do not understand Canon. By default this setting should be configured (On).
