Micro SD Cards

Any advantages or disadvantages

Am I correct they maybe slower?

Canon recommends staying away from Micro SD cards. If you do a quick search you'll find reports of camera lockups/freezing when using micro's.

Well “crawling around on my hands and knees looking for the tiny little card that just got shot out of the card slot cannon” is not how I prefer to spend it…

I would suspect that internally, an SD card and a uSD card of the same size, rating, and manufacturer are the same. However, I think you are asking for trouble anytime you willingly use an adapter. It just adds an extra set of mechanical contacts into the system and increases the points of potential failure.

Agreed. There is a basic truth to this. A simple signal path is generally preferrable to a complicated one, whether that path be optical, hydraulic, magnetic or electrical.

I only use micro SD cards in devices that require them, such as my drone or action cameras.

I don't really like them as I prefer to use V90 SD cards and the V90 micro SD cards are few and far between.

I use them in my Canon M5 bodies as well as my M6 MkII. In the R7 and R6 MkII I use the Kingston SD cards that were recommended here some time ago and they work great. I would assume that the Canon M series don't tax the SD card as much with reading and writing to the card, no problems for me with them in those camears.
