First time attempting to photograph the Milky Way. I went to nearby Black Moshannon State Park on Friday night. Conditions were less than ideal... wildfire smoke and very high humidity. I had to regularly wipe down my lens and equipment. Also, there was a beacon for an inactive local airport that is the light source on the horizon to the right. I have no idea why that beacon was on.
I took several sets of 8-16 photos at 8-10 seconds, F1.4-1.8, and ISO 1600 or 3200. I used Sequator to combine the image stacks, then LrC to edit the resulting TIFF. Given the conditions, my goal was just to figure out the processes and equipment. So, I'm pleased with the result and hoping for better next lunar cycle, and perhaps a trip to Cherry Springs State Park.
