Monopod Question.

Are Sirui monopods any good.
Specifically SVM 145/165.

Others around just as good with out twisting and locking etc

Dunno whether you have a tripod or not, but if you extend only one leg you instantly get a monopod out of your tripod. Just kidding, or maybe not?

I've heard great reviews of the Siriu products, but could never justify their prices (and I don't buy carbon fiber, but that's just me). For what it's worth, I have two other units I really like.

I recently purchased this on sale ($79.95) from B&H: Benro MeFOTO RoadTrip Pro Aluminum Series 1 Travel Tripod with Ball Head and Monopod.

The center column and one of the legs can be combined to make a monopod. No kidding.

Can't recommend it at the regular price of $199.95, but it was a no brainer at the sale price. (And the blue/silver models are on sale now for less than the black version.)

I also have the iFootage Cobra 2 monopod, and was happy to get it for $50 off the $149 retail price. Fantastic monopod, but not really travel-friendly, hence my other purchase.
