Hello all,

Been into photography on and off for over 40 years. Been through several Canon APS-C, back to FF with 6D and now mirrorless with a Canon R. Being retired I have more time for the hobby, but struggle a bit with the older and heavier EF lenses so gradually "swapping" out for lighter RFs as I can afford them. I shoot most things, except people (just as well - lol) but my passion has always been aircraft of all types, as well as wildlife/nature, trains (preferably heritage). Now you see where my username came from.
I hope to contribute where possible as well as learn from the rest of you.

Many thanks for accepting me on board
Ian

Welcome to the forum Ian. I look forward to seeing some of your images. And I am sure that we can learn something from you as well.

Welcome Ian and thank you for joining up here. I bet you will certainly appreciate the lighter RF lenses when shooting skywards :)

Thanks for the welcome. Yes Tim I certainly noticed the difference at the weekend at Duxford's VE Flying Day. Two hours of shooting skywards with the EF would have been too much but the RF was a joy to shoot with. Results not too bad either although my panning skills for propellor types needs some work.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
